About me

Hi. I’m Krissy. I have opinions, and I bought the thing first.

Self-care, family, home, and a slightly unhinged shopping habit I finally put to use.

  • 01South Central Texas. That is as specific as you are getting.
  • 02Married more than ten years. He knows who he is.
  • 03Dean is 8. Rey is 6. That is the whole briefing.
  • 04I have a corporate job. It is not why you are here.
  • 05I buy a lot. I am famously hard to please, at least in this house.
  • 06If I tell you to get it, I actually mean it.

Hi. I’m Krissy. I’m 44, I live in South Central Texas, and I have spent an unreasonable amount of money trying to make a house, a face, and a weeknight feel a little better.

I have a husband I have been married to for more than ten years, and two kids, Dean, who is eight, and Rey, who is six. That is the family section. I am not going to tell you who has whose laugh. I am also not going to tell you our city. The photo is us walking away on purpose. I like you. I do not need you to recognize me in the grocery store.

I have had a corporate job for a long time. It is a perfectly respectable way to spend a Tuesday, and it is not the thing I think about in the shower. What I think about is this house. What I put on my face. Whether the thing I just bought is actually good, or if I just wanted it to be.

I buy a lot. I am hard to please, which my people already know and which Amazon is learning. I started this because self-care, family, home, and decor are the parts of my life I actually like talking about. I wanted a place to say I love this, I do not love that, and I am not going to pretend a miss was a win just to sound nice.

If I recommend it, I bought it, I lived with it, and it survived me. That is a higher bar than it sounds.

What this is

A journal about the stuff I care about when I am not at work. Home. Family. The small rituals that make me feel like a person. And an honest record of what I actually use, including the things that did not earn a second purchase.

I will tell you when something stayed. I will tell you when it was fine, which is sometimes worse. I will tell you when I should have left it on the shelf.

What this isn’t

It is not a highlight reel, and it is not a pile of free products. Nobody is mailing me a box and asking me to smile at it. When I link something, it is because I paid for it and then had feelings.

If that sounds like your kind of internet, I am really glad you found it. Stay as long as you like. I already bought enough for both of us.

— with love, Krissy
